Congratulations to the iBuyPhones Earth Day Winner - Christine D. Simon!

Ms. Simon is a Special Education Teacher within the Peoria Unified School District.  Her winning idea is to use the $422 in prize money to accomplish the following:

Purchase re-useable bags and supplies that will promote how using them helps the Earth.  Along with her students, Ms. Simon will make posters stating facts about how plastic bags can harm our earth and present mini speeches on the same topic to the public outside local grocery stores.   The bags will be given away as a gift from the earth asking shoppers to please use them whenever they shop.

Ms. Simon’s idea was inspired by her mother, who has been using re-usable bags for some time now.  She doesn’t use them only at the grocery stores but everywhere she goes.   Ms. Simon also recognizes the importance of teaching our children about the earth and the things we can do to help keep it healthy.  She says, “Once educated, often it is our children who become the pioneers and parents will follow.  It is such a little thing to use a re-useable bag, especially when each and everyone of us can make a difference.”
